Anhk-Morpork, king of cities, and due to over population, breeder of suburbia. One little town in this sprawling sea of cobble stone is known as Lawndale.(which is strange since it sits on the side of a cliff, and there is not a blade of grass to be seen. Chalk one up for the guild of liars, advertisers, and, politicians.) In Lawndale there lived a girl named Lynn Cullen. And Lynn Cullen is on a mission. It is amazing how a tiny event can so drastically change your life. One moment your existence finally seems to be straightening itself out, when suddenly your old schoolmaster comes out of nowhere, and decides to fire a crossbow bolt through your best friend's side. Of coarse she tried to chase him down, but her heavy Klatchen army boots slowed her progress, and Mr. Li escaped from her grasp. Now AP (which stands for Apricot Pinyin. Let's just say his mother is a few grapes short of a bunch) is now laying unconscience in bed, and all the priests have given up on him, and there was no way they would let the alchemists near him. No one was sure when he would wake up. Jane and Daria had keeping a vigilant watch by his side for the past few days, but Lynn couldn't just stand by feeling helpless anymore. She had to see her father, if anything he might know what was behind this, it couldn't have just been a simple act of revenge, there was no way Li could have got out of jail on his own. Luckily, her mother was somewhere in Lancre on business, so she wouldn't need to explain herself. Just a quick note to Jane and Daria, and she would be off. Well not quite yet, she still had to find out where the bugger was staying. But first things first, tomorrow she would be leaving for Anhk-Morpork proper. And as the saying goes, "Tomorrow is the first day before unusual circumstances rock your world, and turn your life upside-down." (WHOA, foreshadowing) Anhk-Morpork, king of- wait, already did that bit. Anyway, to make a long story short, Lynn made it to the sprawling cesspool that is the center of Diskworld culture and development. And now that you are thoroughly depressed, we will continue with our tale.
