"Thinking of You"
"What are you looking for in there?"
"I swear, Jane, I put my eraser in my bookbag after Barch's class...now it's gone."
"What's up with you, Morgendorffer? You've got some kind of "losing-things" disease lately."
"I know. Oh, it's driving me nuts!"
"C'mon, I think there's one in the kitchen. We'll get a soda."
Unseen eyes followed the girls as they headed downstairs. A door closed.
Hands moved a pile of dirty laundry blocking the closet door. Opened, it revealed a shrine. The glow from Christmas tree lights glanced off the the eraser as it joined a photograph, a coin purse, a pencil, a bootlace, a plaster cast of a finger bone --
The phone quacked, making his heart race. The door was slammed, laundry kicked before it.
"Hello?"
"Okay, fine...the button and the math homework for the coin purse."
"No way, Upchuck."
